Norland’s Innovative 5-Step Purification Process

To produce the best tasting bottled water around, Norland Pure employs a truly innovative 5-step water purification process. Every drop of Norland Pure water is produced and bottled at our Lincoln, NE facility.

We start our water purification process by passing tap water through a Commercial Carbon filter to pre-treat the feed water. Carbon filtration is a method of filtering that uses a bed of activated carbon to remove taste and odors and significantly reduces any organic compounds in the feed water.

Next, the pre-treated water passes through a Dual Tank Ion-Exchange Water Softener to remove hardness minerals such as calcium and magnesium ions that would otherwise negatively affect the purification process.

Once the water has been carbon filtered and softened, water flows to Norland’s patented Vapor Compression Water Distillers. This is where Norland Pure’s process is set apart from most others. Distillation is the process of heating water to the point of boiling creating steam (leaving virtually no contaminants behind), then condensing that steam into consistent, high-quality purified water. This patented process mimics the natural evaporation cycle, to generate the best tasting drinking water available!

After the distillation process is complete, the water is passed through a Tri-Plex Activated Carbon Filtration System for a final “polish” before the water bottling phase.

The purified water is then delivered to purified water storage tanks. The water is circulated through a Corona Discharge Ozone Treatment System to maintain the high purity.

Norland Pure also offers Premium Enhanced Water. Key minerals (Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium) are added to the freshly distilled water to further enhance the already great-tasting water. From one great process comes two amazing products.
